The Game | Character & Empathy | Christina Roussos

Character choices create plot and together they tell a story. Character choice-what they want-is based on the character’s experience. Over the duration of the course, students created and refined an original character. Each character has a history upon which their choices are based. The students embodying their characters were put into groups. Within the form of an interactive improv exercise we call THE GAME, the students acted out their character and their choices in moments of crisis. The result is an unpredictable narrative experiment. The resulting narrative moments are achieved only through a collaboration of imagination focused on the same narrative obstacle. The hope is to create something, if only for a moment, which could never exist through another method.

This year the GAME was led by Bob Walles.
