Laura Brown is a fiction writer whose first novel Quickening (Random House) was a Barnes and Noble Discover Best New Writers pick, and second novel Made By Mary (C&R Press), received an Independent Publisher Book Award Silver Medal in the Visionary/New Age Fiction category. Her short stories have been published in several literary magazines including The Bellingham Review, Monkeybicycle, Paragraphiti and Tin House. She is currently enrolled at SVA in the MFA program to advance her fiction into a visual narrative language.

When she’s not writing, she’s earning a living as a graphic designer in corporate communications and preserving her sanity by practicing yoga. Also, she loves cats.
