Carl Potts
Comics Artist, Writer, Editor
Carl has worked as a comics/graphic novel artist, writer and editor. During most of his 13 years on Marvel’s editorial staff, Carl was Executive Editor, in charge of a third of the company’s publications, including Epic, Marvel’s imprint for creator-owned titles. At Marvel, he mentored many top talents, including Jim Lee, June Brigman, Larry Stroman, Art Adams, Jon Bogdanove, and Whilce Portacio.
His creative work includes Alien Legion, Punisher War Journal, Shadowmasters, Venom and Last of the Dragons. Carl’s Alien Legion comics IP is in development for a feature film at Warner Bros.
He has taught at the School of Visual Arts in NYC since 2011.
Carl is mentor to Meng Yang (’25).
