See our student’s work at the Metropolitan Museum in ‘Mapping the Met’

Event Description

DESCRIPTION
Visual Narrative MFA students from the School of Visual Arts map the Met Museum. Each student has spent the summer observing, documenting, and visualizing the galleries of the Met. They have used this site-specific research to create a group “atlas,” combining drawn, digital, and interactive work to tell stories of the museum. Each mixed media map responds to distinct data and characteristics of the museum, including its diverse collection, architecture, exhibition design, and its varied materials, colors, and textures. Together the maps will highlight new perspectives and lenses through which the museum could be viewed, navigated, or imagined.
