Maciej Kuciara is a concept artist to follow

Maciej Kuciara caught our eye on Google+ in a random post. The piece that made everything else disappear was this one:

It’s digital. So, yeah, that made me click through to his site. It turns out this guy has some chops in the film and game industry. From his About page:

Hi! I’m a concept artist and illustrator working for the film and video games industry in Los Angeles, California. Some of my recent projects include X-Men: Days of Future Past, Wachowski’s sci-fi epic Jupiter Ascending and Marvel’s Guardians of the Galaxy.

Well, “Hi!” right back, fella! That’s serious chops on some upcoming blockbuster films. But it’s his work on projects that have already been released that I enjoyed browsing. I’m a huge fan of the game, Last of Us. So, yeah…

I’ve also started to get into Magic, the Gathering because I’m slow that way.

And Crysis first person shooters are some of the best ever made.

I browsed his archive page and enjoyed the more personal stuff. It has a roughness I miss in this digital world. I can see how Kuciara’s work inspires the director and designers of movies.
