Digital Short Story 2019 spotlight: Mike Sheinkopf’s ‘Caina: A Puritan Nightmare’
A brutal winter has decimated a 17th-century New England plantation. Faced with tragedy, failure and starvation, a man must overcome his guilt in order to stop his brother from committing an irredeemable act.
Mike Sheinkopf is a visual storyteller who has drawn commercial storyboards, comic book covers, concept art and editorial illustrations. His adventures have taken him from his home on Long Island to the valleys of the Hudson, across the country to Hollywood and back again. He is currently a graduate student of the MFA Visual Narrative program at the School of Visual Arts in New York City, searching for the perfect story to tell; one day he may realize he was living it.
