RisoLAB welcomes Sarula Bao!
A big welcome to the newest member of the RisoLAB family!
Sarula Bao is a Chinese-American illustrator and graphic novelist based in Brooklyn. She graduated from RISD in 2016 and published a graphic novel, Lissa: A Story about Medical Promise, Friendship, and Revolution in 2017.
She currently works as an assistant technician at the SVA risoLAB, and as a freelance illustrator and graphic novel project manager. She has worked with risograph at Endless Editions since 2018, and makes comics and zines that explore aspects of Chinese culture, aesthetics, and narrative through a 2nd generation American experience.
