We all do so much browsing and link sharing these days that it’s easy to assume we’ve seen it all. Multiply that assumption by tenfold when you throw Google in there. Everyone has run across their products, right?
I was talking to a friend the other day about the painter, Sargent. He was admiring the brush work and said he would study it forever if he could. I mentioned the Google Art Project, where you can see works of art in high-resolution.
He’d never heard of it.
So I’m going out on a limb and sharing this most unbelievable resource with our readers. In the off-chance that you’ve never seen it, it’s a wonderful way to see more detail of your favorite art than you would at the museum. Nobody clearing their throat for you to move aside. No guards telling you to back away. No ropes keeping you an arms-length away.
And if the Google Art Project is old news to you, go visit anyway! It’s a great break from the day. If you’ve saved any galleries of your own, share the link in our comments!
