Porad Gasan-zade is a freelance cartoonist & illustrator whose base of operations is in Brooklyn, New York. As a wee monster, she watched Batman: The Animated Series and reveled in Judge Dredd’s adventures from the 2000 A.D. In 2018 she graduated from the School of Visual Arts with a BFA in Cartooning. Since then, her personal projects have included a WW2 graphic novel which is told from the perspective of a Soviet Soldier stationed at Brest Fortress in Belgium.
Besides ancient and military history, Po’s other influences are nature, mythology, erotica and mental illness. She believes in including humor that balances out the seriousness and complicated nature that may surround these topics. Along with making stuff surrounding the sci-fi/adventure genre, Po also gravitates towards metaphors and allegories in her more personal stories.
In her free time, Po loves to play video games, make wire sculptures, and enjoy 80’s films and music.
