Natya Regensburger is a 2022 graduate of UCLA’s Geography/Environmental Studies program with a Minor in Geographic Information Systems and Technology. After using satellite data to research human migration through the Pacific and create sustainable tourism plans, she shifted course to take a more hands-on role in community organizing. Now based in New York, she works at a Brooklyn based Taiwanese general store, where she helps tell the stories of artisans and farmers while curating events that celebrate and connect NYC’s Taiwanese community.
Though her career has been multifaceted, she is an avid illustrator and comic artist at heart. Raised on the land in North Carolina, her Taiwanese-Russian heritage infuses her artistic vision with a unique cultural blend. When she’s not creating visual stories, you’ll find her lost in graphic novels, darning old clothes, or practicing Mandarin (with varying degrees of success). She is passionate about illustration as a bridge between cultures, and is eager to continue growing as a visual artist who explores identity, place, and community through her work.
