Mimi Pond
Mimi Pond is a lifelong cartoonist and published author of seven books.Her works include 1982’s “The Valley Girls’ Guide to Life” and a two-part graphic novel about her sordid 1970s waitressing career, 2014’s “Over Easy,” and 2017’s “The Customer is Always Wrong.” Mimi wrote the very first episode of the animated Fox series, “The Simpsons,” “Simpsons Roasting on an Open Fire,” as well as an episode of “Pee-wee’s Playhouse,” entitled “Rebarella.” She is the recipient of a 2014 Pen Center USA award for graphic literature, as well as a Comic-Con Inkpot Award and an Eisner Award for Best Short Story. She is currently at work on a work of graphic nonfiction about Britain’s famous and infamous Mitford Sisters, to be titled “Do Admit: Making Sense of the Mitford Sisters,” to be published by Drawn and Quarterly in 2023.
