My name is Andrew Kupferman, but as an artist I go by Kuppy. I am an animator, illustrator, and cartoonist from Queens, New York. I am also a classical percussionist, jazz drummer, comedian, home-brewer, and seamster. I obtained my undergraduate degree from Hofstra University with a major in Rhetorical Studies and Public Advocacy and a minor in Fine Art.
My preferred style of art is cartoons. Since childhood, I have been creating imaginary worlds and characters to inhabit them. Some of my major inspirations are Adventure Time, Castle in the Sky, and Yellow Submarine.
My goal is to learn how to competently create cartoons that can measure up to the legacy of early-2000’s network-television classics. I also aim to develop the skills needed to serve as an asset on a creative team aiming to create such animated shows. I hope to achieve all this and more at SVA, as well as make lifelong connections that can allow myself and others to launch our careers.
