Kristy Caldwell
Kristy Caldwell holds an MFA in Illustration as Visual Essay from the School of Visual Arts and is the illustrator of many children’s books. Her work has been recognized by American Illustration, Communication Arts, International Library Association, NYPL, New York Foundation for the Arts, Bank Street College of Education, and the Junior Library Guild. She previously held positions as Director of Archives and Publications for Castelli Gallery and co-founder of Carrier Pigeon: Illustrated Fiction and Fine Art. She has served as faculty at Pratt Institute, School of Visual Arts, and Minneapolis College of Art and Design, where she developed the continuing education course “Active Imagination: Ideation Process for Creatives.” She is interested in using immersive storytelling to explore the role imagination plays in the intersection of memory and the present moment. She is currently an Assistant Professor of Design at Queens College.
