Joan McCabe

Joan has an extensive and colorful background producing corporate events for clients like IBM, Titleist and the American Red Cross. This involved loads of travel, (YAY), and skill-building in completely random areas, like knowing union rules for Broadway dancers, renting an amp in Singapore at midnight, and getting a tractor into a hotel ballroom. She served as Co-Manager of designNYC, a platform that matched architects and designers with pro-bono work for grassroots NYC non-profits. At Pentagram, she was Project Manager for museum exhibits, book projects and building signage for clients that included the AIGA, MCNY, Cooper Union, the Frick, American Express and the Rockefeller Foundation. Since she joined MFA Visual Narrative in the pioneer days of 2012, she has fully embraced the self-appointed position of “Story Godmother”, her favorite job title so far. She holds a degree in photo-journalism from Boston University.
