Jake Klotz

Multidisciplinary Artist | Musician | Fabricator

Jake Klotz is a multidisciplinary artist/ musician and fabricator. His professional work is in high-end contracting, fabrication, moldmaking and furniture.

In his art practice he has shown internationally, most notably in Chile, Vietnam, with The Artists’ Museum in Poland, and collaborations with Mish Mash (RU). He has shown in galleries, art fairs and alternative and site specific spaces including; The Whitney Biennial in NY, Galapagos, Pierogi 2000, Max Fish, Monkey Town, Gallery Nhà Mình and The Art Lot. He is currently playing music and DJing under the moniker Kewl Haro, past projects include the indie experimental group La Lus, and the doom metal outfit Hallux. He currently runs the fabrication firm Good News Auburn Sun Corp.

He is also co-owner of the Vietnamese restaurant, Nhà Mình and curator of the associated gallery program.

Jake graduated from the KCAI in sculpture and attended the New School for Russian language studies. Once moving to New York he started the loft and music venue Chez Mesz and hosted the 2003 three day free event The Brooklyn Free Music Festival. Professional collaborations include work with Simparch, El -P, The Rare Book Room, Ryan McGinness, Kaws, and Duke Riley among others.
