Husam Abed
Husam Abed is a multi-awarded Palestinian-Jordanian theatre director, musician, and producer lives in Prague. He is currently pursuing a PhD at Bath Spa University (UK), focuses on objects for refugees’ visibility. Husam holds a Master’s degree in Directing for Alternative and Puppet Theatre from DAMU (Academy of Performing Arts) in Prague. He is the co-founder of Prague-based Dafa Theater and has been actively performing and leading theatre and puppetry projects for children, youth and adults across various countries. Renowned for his collaborative and cross-cultural work, Husam directs performances in partnership with international artists, and his productions are regularly invited to prestigious festivals in Europe, the Arab world, South East Asia and the United States. He is also the co-founder of LIV’in Festival in Prague, Objects without Borders, Ya Khayyal Theare Lab. For Youth and an active member of the Karama Human Rights Film Festival in Jordan.
