Caitlin Skaalrud is a cartoonist, comics educator, and self-publishing artist based in Minneapolis. Her first book, Sea Change: A Choose-Your-Own-Way Story, received a 2012 Xeric Foundation Grant and was printed through her publishing arm, Talk Weird Press. She is a co-founder, former board member, and former volunteer coordinator of the AUTOPTIC Festival, a celebration of independent comics, art, and print culture in Minnesota and the larger Midwest community. Heavily influenced by poetry, symbolism, and the occult, her work seeks to fuse the dark, emotional, and mundane with the metaphoric, mythical, and sublime. She has work published through various anthologies, Uncivilized Books, La Mano 21, and online at talkweirdpress.org.

Caitlin is mentoring Vanessa Dolfinger (Class of 2020)
