Alli Wolf

Painter, Comics Author

Alli Wolf is a magical realist painter and comics author from Minnesota. Trekking through the forest, reading manga and graphic novels, and visiting museums with her family inspired her love of painting and storytelling. She received her BFA in Painting from Maryland Institute College of Art and her MFA in Painting from Brooklyn College in 2011. Her dedication to her craft allowed her to travel to London to study at the Slade School of Fine Art, research Renaissance paintings and frescos in Florence, and paint in the majestic lands of Norway as part of a residency with Bergen Kjott.  After spending time in the worlds of Naoko Takeuchi, Tolkien, and fairy tales, she began to create her own.

In 2022, Alli began taking continuing education classes at the School of Visual Arts, where she intertwined her two loves of painting and comics. Since then, Alli has been painting and writing the magical girl universe of Folkvangr, a story of two best friends who accidentally summon an elder god during a seance, and Mabel the Raccoon, an adventure worthy of Arthurian legend to save the Holy Forest Grail from the Metropolitan Museum of Art.
