Public-Eye Alumni: Louisa Bertman (Class of 2015)

Louisa Bertman is currently working on a game that will be part of a larger exhibition, “Rightfully Hers” for the National Archives in Washington DC, an interactive experience about Women’s Rights/19th Amendment. The game should be launched publicly in early 2019.

Her animated short, “Elegy Ending with a Cell Door Closing” (originally created for WNYC Podcast series, “Caught, The Lives of Juvenile Justice”), and written by current Guggenheim recipient Dwayne Betts was recently accepted into Illustrators 61.

New illustration and animated gifs were included in Rachael Rae Magazine, Good Company, The New York Times, ESPN, and The Smithsonian.

Finally, Louisa is teaching at Lesley University College of Art & Design and she is launching the first BFA in Visual Narrative in the country for Fall 2019. She is playing a leading role in piloting, building, and directing the curriculum.

You can find more of her work on here website.

Go Louisa!
