Karla Castaneda is a student in Savannah, GA. Her work caught our eye on Behance, and we were immediately struck by her distinct style, and her proclivity to say something with her work.
The piece ” Pile of Worth” is especially eye-catching, with its portrayal of women piled up like merchandise. Castaneda said of the piece:
“I have been working on this illustration for quite a while, started it a time ago but decided to finish it just now. This is an editorial piece, the concept is about how us women in this society have a designated ‘value’ depending on our beauty or charm. We are seen as objects who are given a number in the media or even our everyday life. That’s why this women appear in a pile.”
Again, in ”The good politician” she writes:
My point of view towards politicians in Honduras who are leading the country to doomsday.
