CiCi Suen

Illustrator, Graphic Novelist

CiCi Suen is an artist based in London. She graduated with a first-class degree from the Illustration Master’s program at Camberwell College of Art in 2017.

Working as an illustrator and graphic novelist, cici also is drawn to the freedom and spontaneity of painting, and felt that it allowed her to explore her creativity in a more personal and expressive way.

She is fascinated by the beauty, complexity, chaotic structures of naturally harmonious forms. Her collection in charcoal, pastel and pencil reflects how nature worlds comes to life. Seemingly inconspicuous clumps of weeds, as one enters into their interwoven world, the limbs, trunks, branches, flowers, and leaves of plants, with their twisted forms and language, are full of mystery and uncertainty, intersecting between reality and imagination. They appear chaotic, yet have an internal logic and infinite harmony of beauty. They serve as a medium for the artist to release their passion and impulse for the art of painting.

Cici is mentor to Binhua Chen (’22) and Yawen Zhang (’25).
