James Mied

Illustrator & Educator

James Mied is a freelance illustrator and teacher currently living in Kansas City, Missouri. Having grown up all ove0r the world, James Mied has lived in Albuquerque, Seattle, and even London but currently considers Kansas City home. James graduated from the Kansas City Art Institute in 2018 and ever since has freelanced while working part-time as a Teaching Assitant. He has published work for the Kansas City Star, The Pitch, ErgoComical Studios, and Andrews McMeel Universal to name a few. James Mied creates graphic work that focuses on the character and the fantastical, drawing from inspirations from mythology and fables. His work ranges from the whimsical to the horrific, and enjoys most mediums but is a sucker for watercolors and inks. Aside from illustrating he is enthusiastic about teaching and is an avid collector of plants, movies, and video games, and is currently building up his library collection.
