On December 11th, learn all about our low-residency visual storytelling MFA from Chair Nathan Fox, along with students, alums and guests. Get your questions ready!

When words and images come together, they can create powerful visual narratives — stories that can touch hearts, change minds and even change the way we see our world – Story First.

MFA Visual Narrative has developed a visionary “Story First” approach that equally emphasizes creative writing and visual storytelling across all media. Each student’s unique approach to story is cultivated to sharpen their story-development skills, elevating their creative process and advancing their professional practice.

Comprised of three eight-week summer sessions in NYC and two academic years online, this low-residency MFA program places equal emphasis on creative writing and figurative visual expression. The program is designed for both working professionals and recent graduates from all creative disciplines who are dedicated to the art and craft of visual storytelling as both artist and author. Graduates have moved into careers in advertising, gaming, data design, film, animation, sequential arts, and illustration. Meet our community here.

We recommend you get your application in by 1/15/21 for our First Round Review and first consideration for department scholarships. Rolling admissions will continue as space allows.
