Celebrate New York Comic Con with us! Enter the MFAVN Portfolio Review Contest!

How would you like to get your work reviewed by one of the following talents?

Nathan Fox

Jim Rugg

Mark Sable (for all of our writers out there!)

To celebrate NYCC, the School of Visual Arts’ Visual Narrative MFA program would like to offer a portfolio review from one of our esteemed faculty!

If you’re not familiar with our program, we’re a low-residency MFA in NYC, designed to develop the storytelling skills of the “artist as author”.

Applications have just opened for Summer 2016, so apply now if you want to work with our stellar faculty. To enter the contest, simply show up to Table 07 in Artist Alley at the 2015 New York Comic Con and give us:
  1. Your name and email address
  2. A link to your online portfolio
  3. Which faculty member you’d like to review your work should you win the contest

IMPORTANT NOTE: Please do not bring your portfolio to table 07. We’ll arrange to review the winner’s portfolio after the show is over.

Contest entries will be accepted until Noon, 10/11 at the convention.

TERMS OF THE CONTEST:

  • There will be one winner, who will be announced on our Facebook Page and Twitter account. Winner will also be informed by email
  • Visual portfolio must be online for the professional to review
  • If your choice is Mark Sable (for evaluation of writing) you may email your work
  • Because the portfolio must be online, anyone 18 and older can enter from any country
  • The private portfolio review will take place online using a service such as Google Hangouts
  • You agree to receive emails from us about the program. You can opt out at any time by writing mfavn@sva.edu
  • Winner must choose ONE professional to review their work
  • If Mark Sable is chosen, the winner can submit one writing excerpt not to exceed 5000 words. If Mark feels he needs more he may reach out to the winner directly
  • You agree to have your name and samples of your work shown on our social accounts. You retain all rights, and proper credit will be given for your work.
